Families Embracing Anti-Bias Values - Film Preview & Conversation

They’re back! Longtime anti-bias in early education practitioners and thought leaders Debbie LeeKeenan and John Nimmo were first on Talking Race & Kids when they came out with their first film on anti-bias practice in early education. That film was called Reflecting on AntiBias Education in Action: The Early Years and featured primarily the voices of teachers doing anti-bias work with very young children.

This time they’re with us to talk about their companion film, Families Embracing Anti-Bias Values. Instead of only focusing on educators and schools, the film focuses on parents and how they’re thinking about and extending anti-bias values and practices at home. In addition to Debbie and John, we’re lucky to have two of the parents who appear in the film joining us as well: Gabrielle Kazuko Nomura Gainor and Cassie Worley.

You are encouraged to watch the whole film, preferably with others. The film, the guidebook and screening guidelines are all freely accesible at the Anti-bias Leaders ECE website
